London Capriccio

The London skyline has constantly changed but currently this trend appears to have accelerated with each new building seemingly competing with the last in terms of extreme shape and size.   Someone recently commented that one of my paintings of London did not include the ‘Walkie-Talkie’ tower block (simply because it was not there at the time I painted the picture!).  I thought, therefore, to redress this I would compose a capriccio of old and new iconic buildings.  I have also included some old stock domestic housing of the type usually seen from the rear when commuting into the mainline stations.  These endless rows of houses have always fascinated me and I look on them as being as much a part of the London scene as their more prestigious neighbours.
